Meet Our Trainers

  • RYAN MEYER

    Founder, Owner & Personal Trainer
NASM Certified Personal Trainer | FRC Certified

Fitness transformed my life in 2012 when I began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and working with a personal trainer. What started as a personal pursuit quickly became a new direction for my life. I went on to earn my black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and develop a deeper appreciation for discipline, movement and long-term physical development.

In 2015, I studied holistic nutrition and made the decision to leave the nightlife industry and build a career around health and fitness. I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and later earned my Functional Range Conditioning certification, expanding my approach to include strength, mobility and movement quality.

I have always been drawn to challenges that test both physical and mental limits. In 2022, I completed the 52-hour, nonstop Kokoro endurance event—a demanding experience modeled after Navy SEAL selection training. Running had been part of my life for years, but I intensified my training in 2024 and completed a self-supported 100-mile run through my hometown of Alameda.

After completing the 100-mile challenge, I shifted my focus from ultrarunning to bodybuilding. That evolution ultimately inspired me to open Peninsula Strength: a home base for my own training and an elevated, private environment where I could provide my clients with the equipment, focus and coaching experience they deserve.

My approach is shaped by more than a decade of personal transformation. I understand what it means to start over, commit to a difficult goal and discover what your body and mind are capable of through consistent, intelligent training.

  • DAVID CLAWSON

    Sports & Human Performance Specialist

Bay Area bred. Former D1 athlete 🏈. Lifelong basketball player, snowboarder, and surfer. I began my professional training career in 2009 at Equinox Fitness, became a Tier 3+ trainer & in-house TRX Master Instructor. Over the years I’ve earned certifications through National Council Strength & Fitness,  Precision Nutrition, FMS, ViPR Pro, and RKC Kettlebell.

In 2013, I stepped away from the corporate gym setting to create a more private, personalized training experience—helping people achieve their fitness, health, and wellness goals with a tailored approach.

For more than 16 years I’ve specialized in 1-on-1 and semi-private strength training, sports performance, mobility, injury prevention, exercise recovery, weight loss, and nutrition coaching to take my athletes to the next level. My philosophy is simple: we don’t move in straight lines, so I train clients through all 3 planes of movement to maximize performance while minimizing injury risk— both in life & sports.

If you’re ready to invest in becoming the strongest, healthiest version of yourself, I’ll design safe, effective programs built around your goals, abilities, injuries, and lifestyle.

  • REBECCA MEYER

    Co-Owner & Trainer | AFPA Certified Personal Trainer | CAMTC #78820

I began my fitness career in 2016, earning certifications in Les Mills SPRINT, GRIT Cardio, GRIT Strength, GRIT Plyo and CXWORX. I taught group fitness while pursuing pre-med coursework and completing my massage therapy education at the National Holistic Institute.

After leaving group fitness in 2019, I built a full-time in-home massage practice serving clients primarily throughout San Francisco. I worked as a Certified Massage Therapist for seven years, developing a deeper understanding of anatomy, movement and the individual needs of my clients.

My transition into personal training happened organically. People at the gym began approaching me with questions about strength training, and those conversations gradually grew into a personal training career.

Today, I prioritize lifting heavy, building and preserving muscle mass, and helping my clients remain strong and capable as they age. I combine strength training with my education and experience in massage, movement and the body to create thoughtful, individualized programs designed for sustainable progress.

    Schedule: Monday- Friday | 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
